The Scottish Terrier Dog
The Scottie is a playful puppy who grows into a dignified adult. He is likely to become attached to one person and lead a life of quiet dignity dedicated to that companion. Despite his sometime reserved nature, the Scottie remains a true terrier.

Very long lived - 12-14 years

Coat

A double coated Scottish Terrier with a wiry outer coat and a soft undercoat. The Scottish Terrier comes in black, wheaten or brindle. White is not acceptable

Grooming

Thoroughly comb the coat twice each week. Professional trimming is needed every 8-10 weeks.

Intelligence

High

Temperament

Absolutely dependable and loyal, but may sometimes appear aloof and independent. Can be temperamental and may not be suitable for small children.
