The Collie

The Collie Dog

In general, they are easy to housebreak and keep themselves clean. They are protective of their home and, like many herding breeds, are quite vocal at the sight of strangers, but are not considered guard dogs. Although Collies are quite aware of the boundaries of their home, they may also be prone to wander-and their strength and stamina means they can travel long distances in a single day-so a fenced yard is definitely recommended. Their keen intelligence means that they are easily bored, and so do best in an environment with opportunities for lots of exercise and activity.
